Hopefully you would have read about the cookery school that Adam and I visited whilst in Hoi An, Vietnam. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and something I would recommend to anyone visiting Hoi An! Gioan Cookery are a small family run business located in the heart of Hoi An.
The main reason I chose Gioan (other than the great reviews of course!), was because the offered a private one-on-one cooking experience. We were lucky enough to be hosted by the delightful and bubbly Vina, who constantly kept us laughing! We started the morning by visiting a local market to purchase some fresh ingredients that we would use to cook our menu with. The market visit was not only interesting, but a fantastic insight to everyday life in Hoi An, so I’m really glad that was included within the class.
After a short cycle back to the cookery school, our class began. Vina helped us to chop, prepare, and cook some tasty dishes, including lemongrass and chill prawns, as well as the best chicken Pho I have ever tasted! Yum!
To give you more of an insight to our cookery experience, I have created the following short video to share with you all. This is my first blog video that I’ve created, so apologies if it’s a little rough around the edges – but hopefully you’ll get the gist! Enjoy! 🙂
